A Perfect Pairing…

…this 1898 silent short by George Albert Smith, and Bill Evans’ sweet and melancholy rendition of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.”

May your celebrations be merry and bright, and your new year filled with hope.

Blessings, friends.

  1. Cute vintage video, Barbara. I have to say that of all the seasonal songs, I hated this one. I guess it’s the guilt factor of being bad or pouty, etc. To be honest, I can only handle Bruce Springsteen’s version because he basically says most of the people in his audience haven’t been good either.

Happy Holidays to you, again, Barbara.

    1. I’m not crazy about the song either, Nan, but I love Bill Evans. His artistry transforms this silly tune for me. Wish I had that gift. Wishing you a season and new year of music you love.
